Anumba’s 15 help Winthrop beat South Carolina Upstate 83-74

ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) — Michael Anumba had 15 points in Winthrop’s 83-74 win against South Carolina Upstate on Saturday.

Anumba added five rebounds for the Eagles (17-12, 8-6 Big South Conference). Sin’Cere McMahon scored 13 points, shooting 4 for 13, including 3 for 9 from beyond the arc. Kelton Talford had 12 points and shot 5 of 6 from the field and 2 for 3 from the line.

Trae Broadnax led the Spartans (9-19, 4-11) in scoring, finishing with 22 points and six rebounds. Justin Bailey added 15 points for South Carolina Upstate. Jalen Breazeale also had 15 points and eight assists.
