Davis scores 20, Southern beats Prairie View A&M 77-71

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (AP) — Brandon Davis’ 20 points helped Southern defeat Prairie View A&M 77-71 on Saturday night.

Davis shot 8 for 11 (2 for 5 from 3-point range) for the Jaguars (16-9, 10-2 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Tidjiane Dioumassi and Delang Muon scored 11 points apiece. It was the seventh straight win for the Jaguars.

The Panthers (10-15, 5-7) were led by Charles Smith IV, who posted 22 points and four assists. Brian Myles added 18 points for Prairie View A&M. In addition, Javontae Hopkins had 14 points and four assists.
