The relationship of Melania Trump and Donald Trump have been one of the favorite subjects in many reports and profiles on the couple since they occupied the White House. A recent report recalls that the American First Lady was initially not that keen on giving her number to her now-husband.
Melania Trump initially declined Donald Trump’s attempt to get her number
Based on reports and interviews, the couple first met in September 1998 when they both attended a party in New York during the fashion week. Mr. Trump arrived with a different woman as his date, and he was still finalizing his divorce from Marla Maples at the time.
Despite having a date to the said party, Mr. Trump was reportedly smitten by Mrs. Trump, who was then working as a model. He then asked for her number, but Mrs. Trump revealed she was not keen on giving it to him because he already had a date that night. But Mrs. Trump also shared that she instead asked for his number and only called him a week later. And that was how their over two-decade relationship began.
There were also reports that the couple went through several breakups, especially within their first two years of dating. But they obviously worked everything out, and Melania officially became Mrs. Trump in 2005. They got married in January of that year in Palm Beach, Florida and held the reception at their favorite destination, the Mar-a-Lago estate.

Fast forward to this day, the Trumps are likely having the most interesting weeks of their lives. After the long-running bidding of Trump critics, U.S. Congress Speaker Nancy Pelosi finally initiated an impeachment inquiry against the president last Sept. 24.
A whistleblower’s report that Pres. Trump allegedly used White House resources to persuade with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to start an investigation against his potential 2020 Presidential election rival and former Vice President Joe Biden. On Sept. 30, the impeachment inquiry moved forward with support from 224 members of the Congress.
The American president has since held brief press interviews to deny pressuring Zelensky. Meanwhile, First Lady Trump has yet to issue a statement in support of his husband amid the impeachment efforts.
