The latest book about the first lady Melania Trump is set to hit bookstores this week, revealing some more details about what Melania is like behind the scenes. In an interview ahead of her book’s release, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff reveals the first lady’s reaction when Donald Trump’s infamous Access Hollywood tape came out.
In an interview with Good Morning America on ABC, Wolkoff recalled the day the tape of the infamous interview with Access Hollywood came out, with the then-presidential candidate Donald Trump saying he liked to “grab women by the p****.” Wolkoff shared that on the day it surfaced, Melania was smiling and that when they recalled it, they would laugh it off.
At the time, many Republicans withdrew support from Trump when the tape surfaced. Nevertheless, Trump ultimately won in the 2016 elections against Hillary Clinton.
Wolkoff’s memoir about her friendship with the first lady also reveals what transpired behind the scenes, most notably what happened during the inauguration in 2017. Similar to previous books written about the first lady, Wolkoff also revealed the rivalry that was present between Melania and her stepdaughter Ivanka Trump, and how the first lady once described the Trumps as “snakes.”
One excerpt from the upcoming book that was published revealed that Melania and Wolkoff plotted to block Ivanka from the official photos of the inauguration when Donald was taking the oath of office. Wolkoff wrote that Ivanka reached out to her and sent a photo of Trump’s predecessor Barack Obama during his swearing-in, with his family standing by on his left.
“Yes, Operation Block Ivanka was petty. Melania was in on this mission. But in our minds, Ivanka shouldn’t have made herself the center of attention in her father’s inauguration,” wrote Wolkoff.
During the interview, Wolkoff also blasted the entire Trump family and claimed that she is working with investigators to look into the financial crimes that may have been committed in 2017 during the inauguration.
“It was amateur hour then, and it’s amateur hour now, and I think it’s really frightening for our country,” said Wolkoff. “Everyone needs to know…what this presidency is doing and what this propaganda machine behind this man at the White House is doing.”
