Despite the coronavirus pandemic, families everywhere are taking the time to celebrate Mother’s Day. First Lady Melania Trump also wished her fellow moms a Happy Mother’s Day in a video address.
The Daily Mail reports that Trump shared a video greeting on her Instagram, where she paid tribute to her fellow moms from the White House. The First Lady started off her address by expressing her gratitude towards her fellow moms in the country and went on to say how important mothers are in their children’s lives as well as their roles in shaping today’s society, tying with her Be Best initiative. She ended the video by asking everyone to let their moms know how much they are appreciated on this day.
At the same time, she also shared her greeting on Twitter. “On this Mother’s Day, let’s recognize all the mothers, grandmothers & motherly figures for their wisdom, love & commitment to their children & families. Take time today to thank a mother & let her know how much you appreciate her! Happy #MothersDay” tweeted Trump.
Aside from Melania, White House adviser and President Donald Trump’s eldest daughter Ivanka Trump also paid tribute to her mother, Ivana Trump on social media. Ivanka shared throwback photos of her and her mother on Instagram and wished everyone a Happy Mother’s Day. Ivanka is married to fellow White House adviser Jared Kushner with whom she has three children. Eric Trump’s wife Lara Trump also paid tribute to the special day.
At the same time, Melania also paid tribute to those who died from the coronavirus over the weekend. She also shared a video of her address, taken at the White House, on Twitter in time for National Prayer Day. The First Lady addressed the victims of the pandemic and asked that they are included in the prayers of the holiday, including those who are currently suffering from the coronavirus, and those who are at the front lines in combatting the pandemic. The United States currently has over 1,300,000 cases and over 80,000 deaths.
The National Day of Prayer occurs every first Thursday of May, where families in America are encouraged to pray and meditate.
